Each year, the Harvard Black Law Students Association (HBLSA)  sends a contingent of students to an African country during spring break, in what is known as the "Africa Summit." The goal of Africa Summit is to expand the knowledge and sense of community between BLSA members and the wider African community, and to develop ties with the larger African diaspora through legal, political, and social contact, as well as through community service work.

The 2011 Africa Summit team is traveling to the east African nation of Rwanda, Le Pays des Milles Collines ('The Land of 1000 Hills'). Among other things, the group will dialogue with His Excellency President Paul Kagame; meet with an esteemed justice of Rwanda's Supreme Court; visit with the dean of the National University of Rwanda's law program; engage in discussion with the U.S. Ambassador to Rwanda; take on the arduous task of gorilla trekking; and contribute to the work of the Hinga Kawa Women's Coffee Association, this year's community service partner.  Come along for the ride!
